The Brewery
Bradfield Brewery produced its first brew in April 2005.
The 10 barrel micro brewery was installed in a farm building that was once home to the farms youngstock.
All of the beers are brewed using fresh millstone grit spring water extracted from our own borehole.
The malt and barley which comes from Crisp Malting in Norfolk is milled on site to our requirements.
The brewing vessels are a tower design with the mash tun on top of the hot liquor tank, shown on the right and the copper on the left.
We have 5 fermenting vessels and 10 conditioning tanks.
This is one of our beers fermenting.
Fermentation takes around 4 - 6 days, when the correct temperature is reached it is transferred into the conditioning tanks and from there into casks.
The newest edition to the brewery is Massey, our Shire horse who likes a tipple now and then! His favourite drink at the moment is the Farmers Stout which he has on his feed at night.
